Running a business efficiently is one of the most important things a businessperson can do. It spans all aspects of business, from HR to accounting, to sales and marketing, to operations. The importance of running a business efficiently should be paramount to all other parameters of running a business.
I have compiled a list of the Top 5 Business Efficiency Tools that I think all businesses can -and should- use.
5. Cloud-Based Accounting / Invoicing Software
Some of the more popular cloud-based software include Freshbooks, Xero, and Intuit Quickbooks. It doesn’t matter which one of these you choose, but just that you decide to choose one of them. These are game changers because you can now monitor how well your company is doing regarding revenue coming in versus expenses going out without needing to get into complicated algorithms with your accountant.
And from a programming perspective, they have API hooks so that they can communicate with any other e-commerce platforms you may have. There’s also the ability to invoice clients from your phone and to accept different currencies. I would highly recommend these programs to make your life easier, but also to help your business run more seamlessly.
4. Customer Relations Manager (CRM)
Some of these options include Capsule, Salesforce, and Sugar. This software allows you track and monitor all of your clients and potential customers. Every time you make a phone call or an email, it can all be logged into this program and accessed from any device at any time, or shared among a team. A great piece of software to make your life easier. It’s like a modern-day Rolodex!
3. Zero-Inbox Concept (David Allen)
One of the top efficiency authors in the world, David Allen, talks about a “Zero Inbox” in his book Ready for Anything. This concept is always to clear out your inbox when you have completed reading the email. It can mostly be filed into several options: Delegate, Act, Delete, Archive.
Every email that comes into your inbox should be able to be used by one of those 4 actions to ensure that your inbox is cleared out every time you are completed using it. It’s a great concept, buy the book and read about it more!
2. Cloud-Based Project Management Tools
These are great tools to help you manage any team projects. They are very, very user-friendly. A few of these options include Trello or Asana. These tools help you to track progress, see who is working on what within the project, and mainly see the whole process of the project at a more granular level. This is a must-have for any company working on group projects!
1. Efficiency Training
Taking an efficiency training course is the most important tool you can use because it teaches you about what to look for in your company that is inefficient and how to turn that into an efficient process. You can take these courses online at a site like Efficiency Experts, or you can also have a consultant come into your workplace to watch how your company operates and find ways to improve your levels of efficiency. Our team at 1Entity can help you out with this!
No matter which of these five options you choose, you will be on the right track to running your business more efficiently!
